Logline

When their son is kidnapped, an LA mayoral candidate and his wife are forced into a desperate race to secure the ransom. As pressure mounts, every decision carries risk — not just to their child, but to their marriage, their ethics and their public lives. What begins as a crisis quickly becomes a test of how far they are willing to go, and what they are prepared to sacrifice.

The Unseen Narrative

The film is built along two acoustic axes — a public one and a private one — that the candidate is forced to inhabit at the same time. We are engineering a mix in which the podium, the press scrum and the campaign bus are tuned to one register, while the kitchen where the ransom call lands is tuned to another, and the whole film is the sound of a man and a woman trying to keep the two from bleeding into each other.

Selected Frames
#001
The Rally

A stage PA. A crowd at thousand-count. A phone in a jacket pocket.

#002
The Kitchen

Refrigerator hum. A second line picked up. A number that will not identify.

#003
The Drive

A campaign car re-tasked as a courier. Cash in a bag, rubber on asphalt.

#004
The Drop

A concrete lot at 3am. Two bodies listening for a third.

Acoustic Breakdown

The film is built from these components. Each stem below is a narrative thread — the work is in how they are woven, and where they are withheld.

The campaign is tracked in wide, amplified stereo — PA reinforcement, press pool reverb, applause at stadium scale. The family is tracked in close, held mono — kitchen tile, landline handset, a door closing against a bodyguard. The film asks the audience to carry both mixes in the ear at once; the cost is the character's.

Elements
  • Amplified public bed
  • Close-domestic mono
  • Dual-axis listening
